The internet is a complex place. We recognise that much of the information required to plan and maintain an effective online presence is often specialist knowledge that requires an understanding of technical language and concepts.
As full time computer geeks and design-heads we often take this knowledge for granted and forget how perplexing everything was when we started out. The good news is it’s really not that hard! At least at a basic level it’s not.
That’s why we’ve decided to put together a series of articles aimed at explaining the tricks of our trade at a level everyone can understand. In the coming weeks we’ll be posting a weekly article covering topics such as:
- Writing effective content for your site.
- The importance of relational tree diagrams in planning your website
- What is a content management system or CMS?
- Designing for different screen resolutions
- All about browsers (and why we hate Internet Explorer)
- What is Search Engine Optimisation or SEO and why is it important?
- An introduction to HTML and CSS snd other coding languages.
- How to take a screen capture.
+ lots more!
Our aim with this series is not only to give you the knowledge you’ll need to manage your online projects, but also to facilitate our communication with you, to ensure we have a common understanding so together we can make the best possible choices in tailoring your online needs.
We love feedback so if there’s something you’d like explained or you just want to give us your thoughts write us a comment below or send us an email!
